About Mandura

Cultural Sensitivity Warning: Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that this website contains the images and names of people who have passed away.

Mandura translates as ‘trading place’ in the Jaithmathang Bimble language. Bimble is a Jaithmathang word for Tribal Lands or Country. Mandura is also now the name of Australia’s foremost Tier 1 First Nations workplace supplies company.

Mandura, a joint venture with Winc, has been established in partnership with Roderick McLeod, Founder, and Scott Allen, CEO.

Mandura is a completely separate self-determining organisation. With a ‘First Nations First’ employment strategy, every dollar spent with Mandura works even harder, to create a strong ripple effect in First Nations Bimbles.

Mandura has a commitment to donate 20% of all profits to the Pauline E. McLeod Foundation. This not-for-profit organisation was established by Roderick in honour of his late sister.

About the Artwork

The Nescafé Blend 43 and Mandura limited edition packaging features a Mandura-commissioned artwork by First Nations artist Murray Murrajuaiie Belford was a PITTA-PITTA man from the Channel Country surrounding the Boulia district. The artwork tells the story of Mandura, which means ‘trading place’ in the Jaithmathang Bimble language. Here's what the painting depicts, as told by Murrajuaiie.

"This painting represents the Jaithmathang Mandura Trading Places held by other invited First Nations Groups within Jaithmathang Bimble. The handprints represent the sharing of Ancient Stories, Song Lines and Dance Rites for future generations to pass on as this is never forgotten knowledge including Jaithmathang Morning Star Dreaming. The four directions being north, south, east and west, the mountains and river systems of Jaithmathang Bimble. This Ancestral Knowledge is incorporated into this painting as it is in today's timeline for different enterprises Mandura will be trading with in creating solid foundations for future generations to positively live."
