Sweet Potato & Peri Peri Pizza
Sweet potato and peri peri pizza is quick and easy to prepare. Simply prepare the pizza sauce with BUITONI Sugo Per Pasta and add all your favourite toppings. You can make the pizza base yourself using white pizza flour, dried yeast, salt, tepid water, and olive oil. After baking the pizza base, you can add toppings such as buffalo mozzarella, virgin olive oil, and pecorino cheese in addition to roasted sweet potato slices. You can serve up to 10 people with this recipe with the entire pizza making process taking only a couple of hours.
Ingredients
Pizza Dough Ingredients
- 1.6 kg white pizza flour
- 11 g dried yeast
- 27 g salt
- 920 mL tepid water
- 53 mL olive oil
Pizza Sauce Ingredients
- 1 L BUITONI Sugo Per Pasta
- 400 mL Peri Peri hot sauce
Pizza Topping Ingredients
- 500 g sweet potato slices
- 900 g Buffalo Mozzarella
- 70 mL extra virgin olive oil
- 30 g pecorino cheese, grated
Preparation

1Sieve the flour into a large bowl.

2Add the yeast and the salt, mix well.

3Make a well in the centre and pour in the water and the olive oil, mix to form into a dough and knead until the dough is smooth.

4Cover with a cloth and prove in a warm area until the dough doubles in size.

5Knock back the dough and cut into 10 even balls.

6Pizza Sauce Method Mix together and set aside.

7Pizza Topping Method Roll the pizza ball out into a large circle. Spray a pizza tray with oil. Lay the dough on the tray.

8Spread some sauce over the pizza base leaving a 10mm rim around the edge of the pizza.

9Arrange the sweet potato slices and the mozzarella. Drizzle with some olive oil and grate the Pecorino cheese evenly.

10Season with salt and bake for 12-14 minutes at 220c
