Chicken & Cheese Waffles with Gravy

This savoury twist on a waffle recipe is a delicious way to soak up MAGGI Chicken Gravy. This recipe is also gluten free so you can cater to more diners.

Ingredients
Waffle Batter
  • 180g corn meal
  • 250g almond meal
  • 250g tapioca starch
  • 10g baking powder | 2.5 teaspoons
  • 5g MAGGI Chicken Flavoured Booster
  • 20g sugar
  • 40g MAGGI Chicken Gravy Mix
  • 6 eggs | separated
  • 60g butter | melted
  • 600ml buttermilk
  • 10g chives | fresh chopped
  • 200g parmesan | grated
  • Nutmeg | fresh grated (optional)
  • 50g MAGGI Chicken Gravy Mix | made up as per back of tub
  • 5g MAGGI Chicken Flavoured Booster
  • 4 x 1.2 kg Roast Chickens | quartered

    In a bowl mix corn meal, flour, baking powder, tapioca starch, MAGGI Chicken Flavoured Booster, sugar, MAGGI Chicken Gravy Mix, stand aside.

    Add egg yolks, butter and buttermilk to the mix and stir until combined.

    Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form.

    Fold the mix through the whipped egg white. Add chives, cheese and a little nutmeg.

    Cook on a pre-heated waffle iron on high heat for approximately 3 minutes. Lightly season with MAGGI Chicken Flavoured Booster.

    Make the MAGGI Chicken Gravy Mix as back of tub instructions.

    Serve waffle with roast chicken and gravy.

Reserve the roast chicken juices and add to the MAGGI Chicken Gravy for even more flavour.
