Sticky Braised Asian Beef
A protein rich main that is also a source of fibre, try replacing the beef with chicken thigh for a shorter cook variation on this popular recipe.
Ingredients
- 300g onion, diced
- 2 red capsicum, sliced
- 2 yellow capsicum, sliced
- 50g garlic cloves, crushed
- 50g ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 pieces star anise
- 2kg diced beef (braising)
- 4 tbsp cornflour
- 1 cup MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Teriyaki Sauce
- ½ cup MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Hoisin Sauce
- ½ cup MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Sweet Chilli Sauce
- 1L water
- ½ bunch spring onion, sliced, to serve
- 250g peanuts, roasted, crushed, to serve
Preparation

1Sauté onion, capsicums, garlic, ginger, cinnamon and star anise and cook for 5 mins.

2Toss beef in cornflour and add to onion mix and cook to seal

3Add MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Teriyaki Sauce, MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Hoisin Sauce, MAGGI TASTE OF ASIA Sweet Chilli Sauce and water and simmer covered for 2 ½ -3 hours until beef is tender. Taste and adjust the seasoning and sweetness.

4Serve the braised beef with spring onion and peanuts
