Lamb Shanks with Red Wine & Rosemary Jus-Lie, Mash & Green Beans

Tender lamb shanks in a rich red wine and rosemary jus, served over creamy mashed potatoes with crisp green beans for a comforting and satisfying meal.

Ingredients
  • 10 Lamb Shanks, cooked
Red wine & Rosemary Reduction
  • 700ml Red Wine, Shiraz or similar
  • 8 Pepper corns (1g), roughly crushed
  • 5g Rosemary, fresh & chopped (3 stalks)
  • 10g Garlic Clove, pressed (2 cloves)
  • 400ml water
  • 75g MAGGI® JUS LIÉ Beef Flavoured Sauce Mix
Mashed Potato
  • 500ml Water
  • 500ml Milk or Cream
  • 200g MAGGI® Instant Mashed Potato Mix
  • 150g Butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 800g Beans, trimmed & cooked

    Heat Lamb shanks as per back of pack instructions.

    In a medium saucepan simmer the wine until reduced to about 100 mls.

    Then add the pepper corns, rosemary & garlic and water and bring to a simmer, stir in the MAGGI® JUS LIÉ Beef Flavoured Sauce Mix and simmer for 1 -2 minutes until thickened and glossy and set aside.

    For the mashed potato bring the water to the boil, then add the milk or cream and remove from the heat, whisk in the MAGGI® Instant Mashed Potato Mix until smooth then stir in the butter and season to taste. (Stir again before serving).

    Serve the Lamb shanks on the creamy mash with green beans and spoon over the red wine and rosemary Jus-Lie.
