Looking to create new opportunities, learn and connect with industry peers? Are you ready for more? This competition is for you!

Spanning five decades, the Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award is the most credible culinary award in Australia. Celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2020, this Award exists to support the country’s top emerging culinary talent by offering the next generation of chefs a platform like no other to experience new opportunities and advance their culinary careers.

The Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award offers you an opportunity to showcase your skills and win globally recognised medals across entrée, main and dessert course categories.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

ENTRY

Find a cooking partner and get your team together - you will both need to complete a registration form. On successful application, your team will be invited to compete in the Regional or Metro cook-offs (depending on where you live).

REGIONAL HEATS

Twelve winning teams from across Australia and New Zealand will then go on to compete at the Grand Final, to be held in Melbourne, this September.

NATIONAL FINALS

To succeed when it counts, national finalist teams must prepare and serve set covers of a three-course meal within a set timeframe to impress panels of top industry judges who score against strict globally recognised Worldchefs (WACS) marking criteria. The 2020 National Finals will be hosted at Fine Food Australia in Melbourne, when one winning team will take out the title and enviable AUD$15,000 international culinary prize trip to Spain and Switzerland.

“It’s about the journey. It’s about challenging yourself. Taking it to the next level and pushing yourself to see what you can do. You get to meet new young chefs and really see what’s going on in the industry. The experience is life-changing. Chef’s become friends, friends become family and it creates a network that you can’t put a price on.”

Billy Fox, 2018 National Winner.
